Exterior
With an industry-leading drag coefficient of just 0.24, the IONIQ is one of the most aerodynamic vehicles on the market. Streamlined contours have been designed to harness airflow and minimize air resistance. The signature hexagonal grille features computer-controlled air shutters that open and close automatically to optimize aerodynamics (hybrid and electric plus models), while air intakes beside the signature LED daytime running lights help reduce turbulence around the front wheels. All of these elements and more combine to create a stunningly attractive, yet functional design that delivers best-in-class fuel efficiency.

LED headlights
Stylish headlights feature available LED technology to deliver maximum illumination while drawing a minimal amount of electricity, which improves efficiency.
Electric folding mirrors with puddle lamp and LED repeaters
The standard manual folding, heated side mirrors take care of one of the most frustrating parts of winter driving: having to clear your mirrors of ice and snow. They are also enhanced with available LED side repeaters for added visibility of your intention to make a turn. Ultimate models future additional puddle lamp lighting as you approach the car and the ability to be repositioned electronically from inside the driver’s seat.
LED tail lights
The standard LED tail lights are brighter, use less energy and reinforce the design integrity of IONIQ electric. Plus, they also provide increased visibility at night.
Interior
The spacious interior of the IONIQ is charged with distinct design cues. This becomes evident in the strong horizontal contouring of the dashboard and unique white, blue or copper-coloured accents (colour dependent on model) throughout the cabin. Technology
The standard 7.0" touch-screen display is the connectivity hub of the IONIQ. Apple CarPlay™ and Android Auto™ put the power of your favourite smartphone apps right on the touch-screen display. You can access directions, make calls and send and receive text messages while keeping your hands on the wheel and your eyes focused on the road. You can also listen to your favourite playlist through the available Infinity® sound system. The IONIQ electric can be charged at home, or while you're out and about. The estimated driving range at any time is clearly displayed on the supervision display to keep you informed and you can use the available navigation system to map out charging stations within the vicinity of your electric range.
LEVEL 1 – Standard household outlet (120V) – 24 hour charging time
LEVEL 2 – Available household outlet/public (240V) – 4.5 hour charging time
LEVEL 3 – Public (480V) – 35 minute charging time
Sport Driving Mode
The drive modes have been engineered to give you an electrifying and engaging driving experience. Eco mode provides the efficiency you’d expect, while everything changes in Sport mode. The powertrain uses the electric power to boost torque levels for a totally different feeling. The digital instrument cluster even changes appearance and colour when a different drive mode is selected.
Regenerative braking system
The IONIQ electric features adjustable regenerative braking, via steering wheel mounted paddles, maximizing driver engagement and enhancing efficiency.
Safety
At the core of the IONIQ is the SUPERSTRUCTURE™, a rigid but lightweight body made of our Advanced High Strength Steel to deliver superior benefits in handling, cabin quietness and occupant safety. In addition to the SUPERSTRUCTURE™ and seven standard airbags, you and your passengers will be protected by a comprehensive list of available active driver assistance technologies.
Blind-Spot Collision Warning
Capable of sensing an automobile approaching a driver’s blind spot, the standard Blind-Spot Collision Warning provides both an audible and visual alert to help reduce the potential for a collision. This feature works in conjunction with the Lane Change Assist, which measures the closing speed of traffic approaching in adjacent lanes to help determine if a lane change is safe.
Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning
Activated during reverse driving, the standard Rear Cross-Traffic Collision Warning uses radar to help identify and warn the driver of vehicles approaching from the side, even before they come into view of the standard rearview camera.
Lane Departure Warning with Lane Keeping Assist
Drift outside your lane without signalling and this available system will alert you with audible and visual cues. If no action is taken, Lane Keeping Assist can apply corrective steering assistance to help you remain within your lane markings.
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist
This available safety feature uses a forward camera and radar sensors to detect rapidly closing distances between your vehicle and the vehicle ahead, or pedestrians in your path. If a potential forward collision is detected, audible and visual warning notifications alert the driver. If the driver does not react to avoid the impact, the system can provide full braking assistance at speeds under 80 kilometres per hour (vehicle detection) or 64 kilometres per hour (pedestrian detection) to help avoid a potential collision.
Driver Attention Warning
The IONIQ offers available Driver Attention Warning, an innovative safety feature designed to detect the onset of driver fatigue. The system will monitor driver input and issue a visual and audible alert if fatigue is sensed, suggesting a break is taken.
Adaptive Cruise Control
The available Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) system takes basic cruise control to the next level of convenience. Set your pre-determined speed and distance to the vehicle ahead, and ACC will automatically adjust the vehicle speed to maintain the set distance.
