LED headlights with High Beam AssistA unique twin headlight design with available LED headlights and standard LED Daytime Running Lights create an unmistakable front light signature. The available High Beam Assist technology provides added convenience by detecting oncoming vehicles, as well as vehicles in the same lane, and changes from high beam to low beam automatically, as appropriate.

It also features an advanced Active Cornering Control system which monitors driver inputs and road conditions, automatically applying power and braking force to the appropriate wheels to maintain course in adverse conditions.

2.0L engine

The standard 2.0L engine delivers 147 horsepower and 132 lb-ft of torque. It is mated to a smooth-shifting 6-speed automatic transmission with SHIFTRONIC® manual mode for performance and fuel economy in perfect balance.

The KONA features an ultra-rigid vehicle chassis at its core, what we call the SUPERSTRUCTURE™. We built it with our very own Advanced High Strength Steel, designed to be stronger, stiffer and lighter than conventional steel, to provide greater benefits in safety, ride comfort and fuel economy. In the event of a collision, the SUPERSTRUCTURE™ helps protect occupants inside the cabin by absorbing harmful energy and redirecting it away from the passenger compartment.


Available Forward Collision-Avoidance System
Forward Collision-Avoidance Assist system uses the front mounted camera and the radar sensor to monitor the traffic ahead. Should it detect a potential collision with a vehicle or pedestrian in your path, it will warn the driver and if required, automatically slow or stop the vehicle.

Driver Attention Warning
This innovative feature helps monitor driving patterns in order to detect fatigued driving. The available system analyzes your driving, and if inattentive driving patterns are detected, an audible sound and message on the display panel will suggest a driving break.
