The All New 2015 Santa Fe Sport | Safety Features

Santa Fe Sport offers advanced available safety features including Blind Spot Detection (BSD) with Rear Cross-traffic Alert, Lane Change Assist and Rear Parking Assistance System. All features that reveal a commitment to safety that goes beyond standard.
This available radar-based system helps detect when a vehicle is in the driver's blind spot and provides both an audible and a visual alert to help keep you aware as you move down the road. When reverse gear is selected, Rear Cross-traffic Alert helps identify and warn the driver of vehicles approaching from the side.
The advantage of this available safety-technology feature is clear. Lane Change Assist measures the closing speed of an approaching vehicle in the adjacent lane to determine if changing lanes is safe and if it's not, gives the driver an audible and visual warning.
Along with the rearview camera, Santa Fe Sport's available Rear Parking Assistance System makes backing up easier. Sensors in the rear bumper give you an audible warning that increases in frequency and tone as you get closer to objects it detects in the area behind your vehicle.

The Vehicle Stability Management system coordinates Electronic Stability Control (ESC), Traction Control System (TCS), plus the Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) and Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) with Brake Assist (BA) to create an integrated active-safety system to help you avoid accidents.

One of the elements in Santa Fe Sport's Vehicle Stability Management (VSM) system, Electronic Stability Control uses sensors in the steering system and at each wheel to compare where you want to go with where the car is heading. If a difference between the two is detected, Electronic Stability Control slows the appropriate wheel to redirect the car and help keep you on course.
Working in tandem with ESC, TCS limits power and applies brakes to individual wheels to reduce the occurrence of wheelspin, and routes power to the wheel with the most traction.
Emergency braking maneuvers can cause wheels to lock up and skid, resulting in a loss of steering control exactly when you need it most. Anti-lock Braking System (ABS) helps prevent the possibility of wheel lockup under hard braking, and rapidly pulses the brakes to help you retain steering control as you come to a stop.
Helping the driver maintain confident control in difficult braking situations, Electronic Brake-force Distribution (EBD) balances braking forces at each wheel of the vehicle depending on the weight of the passengers and cargo that the vehicle is carrying.
